Renegade Farm attends Winning Weekends Horse Show on May 2, 2010
On Sunday, May 2, three riders from Renegade Farm, Marie & Katie VanDenburg and Katlyn DeRose along with the RF coaches, LynnBakos, Nina Gringeri & Carol Ryan
attended the second day of this 2 day show held at Fonda Fairgrounds.  The weather was beautiful, but humid.  The riders participated in 2 classes, one flat and one jumping crossrails.  The classes were large with 25 participatant in the flat class and 12 entries in the crossrails class.  All riders did well, especially for their first show of the season and on new mounts.  Marie, on Deborah, placed Fourth and Katlyn, on Lady Hawk, placed Fifth in the crossrails class.  We are quite proud of this accomplishment.  Katie did very well, but,  Gumby, the horse, decided to  both trot and canter the course.  A great time was had by all  and we encourage other riders to show.  Below are some pictures, courtesy of Carol Ryan.

enegade Farm Fun Show
This year's Fun Horse Show was held on Saturday Oct 24, 2009.  Despite the inclement weather, a good time was had by all.  The rain did not dampen the spirits of the riders nor their families.Classes were divided between walk/trot and walk/trot /canter in the following areas:   timed events: Cloverleaf Barrels, Pole Bending and Flag Race; and  Equitation  and pattern classes.  Jumping students had 2 Crossrails classes.  The highlights of the day were the Lead line Class in which the students led a family member (mom, dad, godmother, sister ,brother) into the ring on a horse and the favorite, the Halloween Costume Class.   For the costume class, there was a minimum of 2 students to a horse and all students and the horse within each entry had to be in costume.  Each entry had to chose a theme.  The students were quite creative as we had:
  • An Ambulance, First Place, costuming based on owner, Kate Fagan, a medic awaiting deployment to Iraq.
  • The cowardly lion, tin man, scarecrow, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz
  • The headless horseman
  • Pirates
  • Boxes of candy
  • Tribute to America & its fighting soldiers
